ನೀನಿತ್ತ ಮತಿಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊಗಳುತಿರೆ
ಹೀನ ಮಾನವರೊಂದೊಂದೂಣೆಯ ನುಡಿವರು ।।೧।।

ಬಾಣವನೆಸೆದು ಬಿಲ್ಲನಡಗಿಸುವಂತೆ
ಆ ನಿಂದಕರು ನಿಂದಿಶಾಣೆಗೆ ನಿಲುವರು ।।೨।।

ಮಾಧವ ನಾನೇನು ಓದಿದವನಲ್ಲ ಶ್ರೀ
ಪಾದವೆ ಗತಿಯೆಂಬೆ ಬಾಧಿಸುತೈದಾರೆ ।।೩।।

ಅಪರಿಮಿತಪರಾಧಿ ಕಪಟಿ ನಾನಾಗಿಹೆ
ಅಪರೋಕ್ಷಿಯೆಂದೆಂಬ ಕುಪಿತ ಖಳರ ನೋಡಿ ।।೪।।

ಹಿತಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಸಂಗತಿ ಸಾಕು ಪ್ರಸನ್ವೆಂಕಟ
ಪತಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತರ ಸಂಘ ಕೊಡು ಕಾಣೊ ।।೫।।

Transliteration:

P: Anjuvenadake krishna abhayava koridake

 

1. Neenitta mathiyinda ninna hogaLuthire

heena maanavarondhondhooneya nudivaru

 

2. Bhaanavanesedhu billanadagisuvante

aa nindhakaru nindishaanege niluvaru

 

3. Madhava naanenu odhidhavanalla sri

paadave gatiyembe badisutaidaare

 

4. Aparimitaparaadi kapati naanagihe

aparokshiyendemba kupita kalara nodi

 

5. Hitashatrugala sangati saaku prasanvenkata

pati ninna bhaktara sanga kodu kaano

 

Translation:

I am afraid of that. O Krishna, hence I seek thy refuge!

Instead of using the intellect you have given them to praise you, these inferior humans go on ranting about each and every frivolous thing that is around them.

A bow that has shot an arrow, can only be restrained by its archer. Likewise, those who slander your name, will only be controlled by your reign.

O Madhava, I am not a learned fellow. I see your feet as my only salvation, but these people keep causing vexation.

Here I am, a sinner without limits, and a charlatan. These belligerent scoundrels however claim to know it all. Seeing them (I am afraid…).

Enough with the company of such traitors. O, PrasanVenkata, give me the company of your devotees.
